This program is a benefit for the Tendrel Foundation. In August 2007, Venerable Jetsun Khandro Rinpoche asked the Foundation's director - Gregg Eller, to get involved in assisting the condition of the Tibetan people. Creating the Tendrel Foundation was one of the results of that conversation. The Tendrel Foundation is an independent organization and is certified as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with the state of California.

The Foundation will initially identify means and tools to increase the quality of education available to Tibetans, starting in the Tibetan settlements in India. The first priority is to improve available arithmetic and math studies, starting at the elementary school level. We will seek to partner with local organizations to enhance their efforts and are also in discussion with educators. Recommended reading: Bill Clinton's Giving: How Each of Us Can Change The World.

While charity can alleviate immediate suffering, education transforms and uplifts generations. Since translations, publishing and continuing education for teachers will be central to these efforts, funds must be raised and we are grateful to Rinpoche for her support. The Foundation will seek to achieve its goals with a low expense line and do the greatest possible long-term good with each contributed dollar.

About Tendrels
Tendrel is a Tibetan word for auspicious coincidence. It signifies moments that we come to see as the beginnings of meaningful connections. Tendrel moments seem magical because they move us in surprising ways to overcome obstacles. They have power to reveal and accomplish our intentions in a fresh way.
